Flaster Greenberg PC, a full-service commercial business law firm, announced today it has installed a level two electric car charging station in the firm’s office parking lot located at 1810 Chapel Avenue West in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Flaster Greenberg is the first professional corporation in Cherry Hill to offer an electric vehicle curb-side charging station free to both its employees and clients. The station is self-serve and has the capability to “top off” or fully charge an electric vehicle while the firm’s employees are at work or its clients are attending a meeting at the firm. Considering one-third of the nation’s greenhouse gases come from transportation and sixty percent of that is from personal vehicle use, electric vehicles can make a tremendous impact.
“Flaster Greenberg recognizes the importance of alternative energy infrastructure and what it means for the environment,” said Peter R. Spirgel, Managing Shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of Flaster Greenberg. “With our rapidly growing Alternative and Renewable Energy Practice Group, we wanted to offer this service to both clients and our employees with electric vehicles to help address one of our country’s most pressing problems, our dependence on fossil fuels.” Leading by example, Spirgel has reserved an electric car from Tesla Motors and will be one of the first in the country to take delivery of this new vehicle.
Over the last few years, Flaster Greenberg has adopted several energy efficient amenities in an effort to help improve the environment. Recently, a year-long construction project was completed in the firm’s Cherry Hill office and the firm installed motion sensor light switches, energy efficient light bulbs and wallpaper made from recycled materials. All cleaning products used in the office are green seal certified and the firm recycles all of its metal, plastic and paper waste.
The Alternative and Renewable Energy Practice Group at Flaster Greenberg is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of attorneys drawn from numerous practice areas, including environmental, corporate, tax, finance (grants, guarantees, tax credits, other incentive programs), equity funding, intellectual property, real estate, and land use. Flaster Greenberg attorneys represent clients with needs in the solar, wind, cogeneration, bio-fuels, biomass and other alternative and renewable energy areas and clients engaged in the green construction industry, including LEED ® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified construction and related regulatory and real estate matters.
Flaster Greenberg was an instrumental force in the planning and execution of the 2011 NJ/PA Sustainability Symposium held at Rutgers University Camden last spring. Flaster Greenberg attorneys will be participating in the 2012 Sustainability Symposium to be held at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on March 29th.
