William Burnett, a shareholder in Flaster Greenberg’s Bankruptcy Department, recently accepted an adjunct professor position at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law in Villanova, PA, where he will teach “Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization.”

Burnett, an attorney with almost 30 years of experience, represents clients in all areas of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, creditor’s rights, and corporate liquidations. In addition, he counsels debtors on the advantages and disadvantages of Chapter 11 and the rights and remedies of creditors and unsecured creditors' committees in the Chapter 11 process.

“I am honored to join Villanova Law as an adjunct professor to teach the next generation of attorneys about bankruptcy and business. It’s a subject matter that I am passionate about and have practiced for nearly three decades,” said Burnett. “I am excited to be a part of the University’s enriching academic community.”

Burnett continues: “In addition, I am humbled and greatly honored to be given the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of The Honorable Kevin J. Carey, who was greatly admired and revered for his professionalism, knowledge, and his dedication to justice and education.”

Burnett is Flaster Greenberg’s Ethics Counsel, a former member of the firm’s Board of Directors, and past chair of its Bankruptcy, Financial Restructuring and Risk Management Department. He is a current member of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Court Local Rules Committee and was recently appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to its Ethics Committee (District IV – Burlington and Camden Counties).  Burnett obtained his J.D. at Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia, PA, in 1995 and, for nearly 20 years and counting, he continues to also serve as an adjunct professor at Temple in their Integrated Transactional Program.
