ACI-NA will be bringing together airport legal professionals and consultants to identify and discuss the most pressing legal developments and issues associated with the industry. The event will include discussion panels, networking opportunities, and presentations from industry leaders.
The Environmental Affairs Committee is responsible for the development and implementation of ACI-NA environmental policy positions on issues such as noise, air quality, water quality, waste management, wildlife, and environmental review processes. Committee members work with federal legislators and regulators, aviation industry groups, and international policymakers to develop statutory and regulatory proposals governing the environment at and around airports and the tenants who operate there.
The committee also helps guide federal aviation environmental research programs such as the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) and FAA’s ASCENT project. The committee provides information and guidance for airport operators in the development of environmental management programs. It is represented on the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board, the International Civil Aviation Organization, the NextGen Advisory Committee, and other industry and government-sponsored organizations with a focus on the environment.
