Human Resources Council: Navigating the Ever-Changing Legal Landscape of the Workplace for Multi-State Employers

PDF
Flaster Greenberg PC & Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey

Description:

From earned sick leave to NJ Mini-WARN to required Labor Peace Agreements for cannabis businesses, employers in New Jersey face an increasing, and often unique, set of requirements. These requirements often set minimum standards that well exceed the benefits required in other states. For businesses with employees in multiple states, the heavy regulatory burdens of operating in New Jersey present a challenge to developing consistent policies across an organization. Certainly, employers cannot assume that they are compliant with New Jersey law because they are compliant with the law of another state, but they must reconcile whether to use New Jersey as the gold standard or the exception. Attendees for this interactive session will have the opportunity to explore ways to implement policies across multi-jurisdictional organizations.
