Supplier diversity is an increasingly important objective of many private companies and governmental entities. However, family owned businesses face challenges in attempting to achieve the diversity requirements and newly formed, small WMBEs can face challenges when it comes to fulfilling the demands required of the large contracts. This forum will explore the barriers to competition and exchange insights from a broad spectrum of family owned businesses as well as the companies that have implemented supplier diversity programs to gain a better understanding of the supplier ecosystem, how decisions are made, and how small and family run businesses can better position themselves to gain a seat at the table.
