Beginning July 19, 2010, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is accepting applications for its Alternative Fuels Incentive Grant (AFIG) program. AFIG funding is available for a variety of activities, so long as the funded activities are conducted within Pennsylvania. Activities eligible for funding include:
- Production of alternative fuels, including biofuels
- Research and development for alternative fuel production and vehicles
- Purchase or retrofit of alternative fuel vehicles
- Purchase of alternative fuel storage and refueling equipment
A total of $6 million in funding is available under the AFIG program. Grants are capped at $600,000 each, with no more than $900,000 being awarded in total for projects in any one Pennsylvania county. Eligibility for the program is limited, and certain details must be included in all applications for funding. Details of the DEP AFIG program are available at this link.
