Alma Saravia to Participate in Medical Staff Bylaws Webinar

Alma L. Saravia, a shareholder in the Healthcare Practice Group at Flaster Greenberg PC, has been selected by Strafford Publications to join a panel of experts for the Medical Staff Bylaws Webinar on September 11th. She will join fellow panelists Richard D. Barton, Partner, Procopio Cory Hargreaves & Savitch, and Scott C. Gardner, Esq, Buerger Moseley & Carson to discuss how to comply with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) changes and updating hospital governance documents.

The webinar, entitled "Meeting New Medicare Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission Requirements," will prepare healthcare counsel to advise and guide healthcare providers and hospitals on ensuring medical staff bylaws comply with Joint Commission standards, CMS conditions of participation, and federal and state law. The panel will also review the impact of healthcare reform on medical staff governance.

Saravia concentrates her practice in healthcare law. Her clients consist of medical staffs, nursing homes, physicians, nurses, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals as well as statewide healthcare organizations. She counsels physicians on licensure and disciplinary matters before the Board of Medical Examiners of which she was a member from 1992 to 1994, as well as other appearing before other healthcare licensure boards.
