Attorney Steven S. Poulathas has joined Flaster Greenberg as an associate and member of the Corporate/Tax, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Trust and Estate Practice Groups in the firm's Cherry Hill office. Poulathas joins Flaster Greenberg from the international law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where he was a tax associate in the Philadelphia office since May 2004.
Poulathas will focus on counseling and representing individuals and companies in tax planning, compliance and controversy for matters involving a broad range of corporate, partnership, limited liability company and real estate issues, including merger and acquisition agreements, legal opinions, private letter rulings and SEC registration statements. He also will be advising on estate planning and administration. Poulathas has worked on the administration of one of the largest estates in the Philadelphia region.
After graduating summa cum laude from Villanova University School of Law (J.D. May 2002) where he ranked within the top five of his class, Poulathas joined Dilworth Paxson LLP in Philadelphia as a tax associate from 2002 to 2004.
During law school, he served as an Internal Revenue Service extern in the Office of Chief Counsel in Philadelphia and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Norma L. Shapiro, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He also served as a law clinician at Villanova United States Federal Tax Clinic and as an intern within the International Executive Tax Practice at KPMG Peat Marwick in Philadelphia.

While in law school, Poulathas was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as associate editor of the Villanova Law Review. He was a finalist in the Villanova Law School 42nd Annual Theodore L. Reimel Moot Court Competition. He is currently pursuing an L.L.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law.
Poulathas received a B.S. in Accountancy with a minor in Economics from Villanova University in 1999, graduating summa cum laude and as class valedictorian. He served as president of the Honor Society for the School of Commerce and Finance.
Admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Poulathas is a member of: the Pennsylvania Bar Association; the American Bar Association, Tax Section; and the Philadelphia Bar Association, Tax Section, Probate Section - Tax Committee.
A civic leader and active volunteer in the community who is fluent in Greek and with conversational skills in Spanish, he is legal advisor to the U.S./Greece Business Advisory Council and the Chios Societies of America and Canada. A vice president and a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Atlantic City, he serves as chairman of the Beautification Committee overseeing a multi-phase fundraising project for the church. Poulathas has also provided significant pro-bono legal assistance to a variety of non-profit charities and religious organizations. He and his wife, Athena, reside in Cherry Hill.
