Flaster Greenberg attorneys Adam Gersh, Michael Homans and Kenneth Gilberg will present a three-part workshop to human resources professionals on May 9, offering legal perspectives on recruiting and retaining talent, how to handle family and medical leave issues and disciplining and discharging employees. Qualified human resources professionals will receive up to three (3) credit hours for recertification. PrimePoint LLC, a payroll processing and HR information system technology company, is hosting the presentation.

The first session, “Catch’n Keep – Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Talent,” will be presented by Flaster Greenberg attorney Adam Gersh. This session will tackle the legal issues businesses face trying to find or retain talent, including: potential risks, strategies for recruiting employees subject to non-competes, retention plans, and boundaries for developing creative solutions for retaining talent but challenging employees.

The second session, “Just Leave – How to Handle Common & Complex Family & Medical Leave Issues,” will be presented by Flaster Greenberg shareholder Michael Homans. This session will focus on effectively managing family and medical leave, and will provide tips and tools for lawfully dealing with issues under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act and state leave laws.

The third session, “Avoiding Legal Landmines – How to Effectively Discipline and Discharge Employees,” will be presented by Flaster Greenberg shareholder Kenneth Gilberg. This session will address key regulations and processes related to the effective discipline and discharge of an employee.

The complimentary workshop will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 8:00 a.m. at PrimePoint’s headquarters located at 2 Springside Road in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.
