Philadelphia, PA

Michael D. Homans, a shareholder in the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group at Flaster Greenberg, will speak on the challenges employers face with regard to religious expression in the workplace at the American Bar Association's Section of Labor and Employment Law Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee Midwinter Meeting on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in Dana Point, California.  Homans will be one of three speakers discussing, "In Management We Trust."  The program will cover the competing rights of religion, free speech, and privacy for private and faith-based employers and their employees.  This subject has created substantial "buzz" in the employment law community, as more employers consider allowing - or even fostering -- greater levels of religious expression and activity at work.

Homans practices labor and employment law, concentrating on the litigation of workplace disputes and pre-litigation advice to employers and employees, including faith-based employers.  He serves as lead counsel in cases concerning wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistle-blowing, enforcement of restrictive covenants, ERISA, family and medical leave, defamation and breach of contract.
