John Silvester is a member of Flaster Greenberg’s Intellectual Property Department and Patent Practice Group. John’s experience in the Patent Practice Group includes patent prosecution and enforcement in the United States, Europe, China, India, and other international jurisdictions. John specializes in wireless communications, especially 4G and 5G cellular networks. John’s strong technical background enables him to work on many different technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), signal processing, and software matters.
Prior to joining Flaster Greenberg, John worked as an electrical engineer specializing in robotics and automation for approximately five years. John has experience designing electronic systems and developing hardware-control software for use in pharmacy robotics, smart medicine cabinets, medicine packaging machines, and more. Additionally, John has experience working to ensure product compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including FDA, FCC, CE, and other regulations.
John graduated summa cum laude from Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University. John graduated magna cum laude from Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University in 2019, and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
John served as an infantryman in the United States Army for four years. He served two years in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment under Joint Special Operations Command, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2016 in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. John also served as facilitator for the Army’s Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leadership Course.
