Session

In the Wake of Hurricane Ian: A Look Back and A Look Forward

This Panel will discuss the challenges insurers and policyholders faced in the wake of Hurricane Ian, including challenges relating to accessing loss locations, adjusting claims amid the rubble, determining covered and uncovered losses, allocating damages, and maintaining proper claims handling procedures.  This Panel will also discuss the current legal landscape and legal paths to recovery that remain available for Ian claims, many of which may not be available in future storms due to sweeping legislative changes. The Panel will consist of an insurance company executive, insurer and policyholder lawyers, and a public adjuster.
