Flaster Greenberg shareholder John W. Fried has been named by Thomson Reuters, publishers of New York Metro Super Lawyers magazine, as a “Super Lawyer” in the area of insurance coverage for the seventh consecutive year in 2014.
Only five percent of attorneys in the state are named by Super Lawyers annually. The designation is granted to attorneys who demonstrate the highest levels of legal ability and integrity as determined by their peers and independent research. The multiphase research process, performed annually, consists of a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area and a good-standing and disciplinary check.
Fried is a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage Counseling and Litigation for Policyholders Practice Group and serves as head of the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice Group. His civil practice is devoted to representing policyholders in complex business-related insurance coverage disputes, involving general liability, property, directors and officers, errors and omissions, professional liability and other types of business—related insurance policies. He also represents individuals seeking insurance recoveries pursuant to disability, life, and health insurance policies. Fried’s criminal defense practice involves representing business organizations and individuals who may be or who are the subjects of criminal investigations and/or prosecutions.
Fried is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. He is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and received his AB from Rutgers University. He is also an active member of the American and New York City Bar Associations.
