Short-term landlords can be sued for injuries: Court allows lawsuit from family renting for only two weeks

Frank Wisniewski was asked to explain the legalities of a change in standards for premises liability that resulted from a lawsuit against the owner of a beach property by a tenant who had signed a two-week lease for a vacation rental. Because of the ruling, courts will look at the length of time of a lease, something that was not a factor before, when determining liability.
