| Press Release

John Koch, Flaster Greenberg Environmental Law & Insurance Recovery Shareholder, was tapped to speak at this year's RiskWorld, the Risk Management Society's annual conference. The conference is the largest and most comprehensive event in the risk management industry with more than 10,000 attendees and 400 vendors.

Koch will present "Taking the Mystery Out of Waiver of Subrogation and Other Contractual Risk-Shifting Provisions." For this presentation, Koch will review the waiver of subrogation, what they do and how they work, and how to partner with counsel to ensure insurance placement and compliance, potentially through specific endorsements.

In collaboration with Lee Epstein, Insurance Counseling & Recovery Department Chair, Koch will present, "Conflicts of Law and Your Insurance Claim: Don’t Get Caught Sleeping and Risk Losing Coverage." The pair will explore conflicting outcomes for coverage issues among state courts due to vastly different insurance policy language interpretation, how coverage may suddenly depend not just on the policy language or facts, and discuss how to avoid the potentially costly results of the insurer choosing the court before the policyholder.

Koch is frequently tapped for speaking engagements locally and nationally.
