Elissa K. Kerr is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. She focuses her practice on all aspects of complex commercial litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, she worked at a mega-firm with an office based in Philadelphia where her litigation practice focused on the defense of corporate clients in a broad range of complex commercial matters in the areas of business disputes, healthcare, labor and employment, whistleblower/false claims act, environmental harm, director’s and officer’s liability, and consumer protection.
Elissa’s experience includes defending hundreds of pre-suit claims and lawsuits, including large nationwide class actions, from inception to resolution in state and federal courts. Elissa also has experience counseling clients regarding compliance with data privacy and security laws and employment issues.
Representative Matters
- Successfully mediated a multi-million-dollar whistleblower/false claims act lawsuit.
- Obtained the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging corporate negligence and veil-piercing claims against a parent company for the alleged actions of its subsidiary through the filing of a 12(b)(6) motion to dismiss in federal court.
- Obtained a judgment for a commercial client at a trial involving a million-dollar breach of contract landlord/tenant dispute.
Community Activities
- Volunteers with numerous public interest organizations, pro bono representation referral networks and legal aid clinics offering legal services to homeless and low income families in the Greater Philadelphia area.
